French utility Suez Environnement (SEV.FR) Monday said it acquired several water activities from Tyco International Ltd.'s (TYC) Earth Tech unit in the U.S., but didn't disclose financial details of the transaction.
In a statement, Suez Environnement said it acquired 130 operation and maintenance contracts as well as U.S. company Water & Power Technologies as part of the sale by Tyco of its Earth Tech unit to AECOM Technology Corp (ACM).
"These acquisitions follow the strategy of Suez Environnement's positioning in the U.S., which - through United Water - has developed a balanced portfolio of activities including both regulated and non-regulated businesses," the company said in its statement.
Overall, Suez Environnement's United Water holds 8% of U.S. private-sector drinking water production and distribution and waste water services, it said.
