Iran and Oman will hold talks next week in Tehran on energy cooperation between the two countries, the state Irna news agency reported Tuesday, citing the Iranian oil minister.
Gholam Hossein Nozari said the two countries will follow up on negotiations on a natural gas deal, Irna said.
Nozari lead an Iranian delegation to Oman earlier this week to discuss energy cooperation, the development of Iran's oil and natural gas fields and the export of Iranian natural gas to Oman, with Omani officials, according to Irna.
According to previous media reports, discussions in Muscat included exporting natural gas from Iran's Kish gas field in the Persian Gulf to Oman, Omani investment in the Kish field and having Oman convert the Iranian gas into LNG for the National Iranian Oil Co.
The two countries agreed in Oman to set up a technical committee to follow up on the process of energy cooperation between the two sides, reported Irna.
