The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, or BTC, will be out of operation for two to three days in the end of September due to planned maintenance, Azerbaijan's state oil company Socar said Tuesday.
The pipeline, the world's second-longest pipeline at 1,774 kilometers, daily carries up to 1.2 million barrels of Central Asian oil from Azerbaijan to Turkey through Georgia.
It was shut on Aug. 5 for almost three weeks after a blast in a pump at a section in eastern Turkey sparked a fire.
The conduit faced further risks when tensions in Georgia's breakaway region of South Ossetia escalated into a full-blown military conflict between Moscow and Tbilisi last month.
