Little or no gas is yet flowing from Russia to the European Union through Ukraine, the European Commission said Tuesday.
"The situation needs to improve rapidly," spokeswoman Pia Ahrenkilde Hansen said during a regular press conference in Brussels.
Russia's gas monopoly OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) said earlier Tuesday that shipment of natural gas to European consumers hasn't restarted as planned because Ukraine has not opened the pipelines for the transit.
