Russia's state-controlled gas export monopoly OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) plans to export a total of 170 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Europe this year, down from 179 billion in 2008, the Interfax news agency reported Friday, citing a company statement.

Gazprom also expects the average European gas price to fall to $280 per 1,000 cubic meters from last year's average price of $409 per 1,000 cubic meters, Interfax reported.
