Bulgaria and Romania will start a joint pre-investment research for the construction of an inter-system link for the transfer of natural gas in the section Ruse-Giurgevo. The two sides will analyze the opportunity for using partial financing from the European funds for the construction of the link, the Bulgarian energy holding announces.
This was discussed at a meeting between the managements of "Bulgartransgaz" EAD, the filial "Bulgarian Energy Holding" EAD and "Transgaz", Romania, which took place in Sofia on 18-19 February. The main topics during the talks were the security of the supply and the procurement of inter-system links for transfer of natural gas between the Bulgarian and Romanian networks.
The two sides discussed the construction of a gas pipe, connecting the two gas systems in the region Ruse - Giurgevo, as well as a research on the opportunity for a link in the Isakcha and Negru Voda region. In the future, the countries will analyze the opportunity for additional inter-system links between the Romanian and Bulgarian gas transport systems.
