Anglo-Russian oil joint venture TNK-BP Holding (TNBP.RS) is studying opportunities for developing prospective oil and gas projects in the Middle East, including Iraq, Yemen and Jordan, according to a Siberian radio news report that TNK-BP published on its own Web site.
TNK-BP's spokeswoman declined to confirm or deny the press report that was posted on the TNK-BP Web site. But she said that despite the global economic crisis, the company didn't give up its plans for growth abroad.
"At the moment TNK-BP does not have any assets or projects in those countries, but is keen to establish presence in the region in the future," said the excerpted report, from a local radio station in the West Siberian city of Nizhnevartovsk, quoting an unnamed source.
