Gas Natural SDG (GAS.MC) has up to 10 companies interested in the acquisition of gas-fired power plants that the Spanish gas supplier is required to sell following its takeover of electricity company Union Fenosa SA (UNF.MC), Gas Natural Chairman Salvador Gabarro was quoted as saying in an interview published Sunday by local daily El Pais.
Russia's Gazprom OAO (OGZPY) is among the interested companies, Gabarro was quoted as saying. The divestment is one of the conditions required by local antitrust authorities in the purchase of Spain's third-largest power utility.
