The U.K. Nuclear Installations Inspectorate has given consent for the restart and extension of Oldbury nuclear power station's reactor 1, operator Magnox North said Tuesday.
Oldbury reactor 1, which was closed on December 2008, will now likely run through 2009 and 2010 depending on fuel availability and reprocessing schedules at Sellafield nuclear reprocessing facility, the company said in a statement.
