French state-controlled power giant Electricite de France (EDF.FR) is considering leading a consortium of French companies to bid for a nuclear contract in the United Arab Emirates, French business daily Les Echos reports Wednesday, without citing sources.
EDF's board met Tuesday to consider leading the bid, taking 45% of the work, alongside utility GDF Suez (GSZ.FR), which would also cover 45% of project, the paper reports. French oil giant Total SA (TOT) would manage 10% of the more than $40 billion project, according to the report.
