MOSCOW (Dow Jones)-- Russia will cut carbon emissions by 20% to 30% from 1990 levels by 2020, an official said Friday.

Russia's emissions plan is dependent on other major carbon producers agreeing to cuts as well, and developed economies such as Russia's shouldn't have unrealistic emissions cuts imposed upon them, Kremlin climate adviser Alexander Bedritsky told reporters in Moscow Friday.

The volume of carbon-credit trading is expected to rise in the coming decade, he added.

President Dmitry Medvedev is expected to attend the climate conference in Copenhagen next week.
