Interior Secretary Ken Salazar is scheduled to make a "major
announcement" on the project at

office said. A person briefed on the secretary's decision said he plans to
announce approval of
Cape
Wind
, a
Boston
company's plan to build 130 windmills across 25 square miles of federal waters
off
Cape Cod
.
A spokeswoman for Salazar declined to comment ahead of the news conference. A
spokesman for Cape Wind LLC, the closely held firm developing the wind farm,
said Wednesday the company was still waiting to learn Salazar's decision.
