Albanian state news agency ATA reports Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edmond Panariti, as saying at a news conference that Albania, Italy and Greece will sign a high level accord to clearly demonstrate the political support for the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) as a way to increase the chances for getting the building of the Southern Gas Corridor from the Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz gas fields approved.

Commenting on the support Italy and Greece give to the TAP natural gas pipeline project, Panariti noted that signing of the intergovernmental accord between the three countries involved in the project will take place very soon.

The timing is such that the first political agreements are expected just after the summer, and the second round of agreements by the beginning of 2013.

Regarding a maritime border agreement with Greece, Foreign Affairs Minister stated that "the issue is categorically separated from the TAP pipeline project and it will be addressed at a right moment with the Constitutional Court ruling as the focal point for the talks with the neighbouring Greece."
