Energy output fell 7.1% on the year earlier to 3.56 million tons of oil
equivalent. Thermal power output decreased 18.8% on the year to 5.52 billion
kilowatts hour, while nuclear production fell 2.1% to 1.99 billion KWh, the
statistics institute INS said.
Hydropower production rose 23.3% on the year to 2 billion KWh in January
through February. A month earlier, output in the sector increased 31% on year.
Wind farm production rose to 873.6 million KWh in the first two months, from
440.7 million KWh in the same period of 2012.

primary energy resources fell 7.3% on the year to 4.99 million tons of oil
equivalent in the period.
Electric energy resources dropped 5.6% to 10.53 billion KWh, due to a 4.6%
decline in production.
Romanian final power consumption reached 8.77 billion KWh in the first two
months, a fall of 4.6% from the year0-earlier period. Household consumption was
stable on the year, but public illumination fell 8.8%.
