Russia will fund the construction of the Serbian section of the South Stream gas pipeline worth 1.7 billion Euro and Serbia will pay to Russia at the expense of gas pumping tariffs, Aleksei Miller, Gazprom President said after the Russian-Serbian talks in Gorki, newswires reported.

The final investment decision on the South Stream gas pipeline was signed between Gazprom and Serbia in October 2012.

Russia has earlier agreed to deliver up to 1.5 billion cubic metres of gas a year to Serbia within 10 years. Gas will be transported through the existing route and in the future it will be transported via the South Stream, reported RBC.
