Croatia's power transmission system operator, HOPS, said on Friday it has
commissioned a 350 million kuna ($56.7 million/45.6 million euro) transformer
station near the Adriatic town of Dubrovnik.
The new Plat transformer
station raises the reliability of electricity supplyin the greater Dubrovnik
area, providing a direct boost to the local economy, especially tourism, HOPS
said in a statement.
HOPS plans to complete by the middle of next year
the construction of its Srdj transformer station, also located close to
Dubrovnik, enabling to connect new customers to its transmission
network.
