Five companies have filed preliminary non-bindingbids
ina tender for an investorfor a 1.0 GWhydropowerproject in Romania, the
project company said on Friday.
The project company, state-owned Hidro
Tarnita, will announce the pre-qualified investors after analyzing the documents
submitted by the five companies by the Friday deadline, it said in a statement,
without disclosing the names of the bidders.
The project envisagesthe
construction ofTarnita-Lapustesti pumped-storage hydropower plant,located in
the northwestern county of Cluj. The plantwill comprise four reversible
pump-turbines of 250 MW each andwill require an investment of more than1.0
billion euro ($1.1billion).
During the fist stage of the selection of an
investor, who will become a shareholder in the company, investors must prove
they meetthe pre-qualification criteria. During the second stage negotiations
will be held with potential investors based on their preliminary non-binding
bids, and in the third stage investors must file sealed bids.
