Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.001% to 784,432 megawatt-hours on Thursday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 37,209 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest daily point of 27,215 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production totaled 790,98 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.09% decreased compared to the previous day. The majority of the output came from imported coal plants totaling 203,113 megawatt-hours. Natural gas and lignite followed with 187,31 megawatt-hours and 136,714 megawatt-hours, respectively.

Also on Thursday, Turkey’s electricity exports amounted to 28,490 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 9,336 megawatt-hours.
