Turkeys Daily Power Consumption up 4.06% on Oct. 8

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 4.06% to 768,181 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 36,337 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest daily point of 26,417 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production totaled 771,841 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 4.07% increase compared to the previous day. The majority of the output came from coal imports totaling 192,986 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity and natural gas followed with 151,748 megawatt-hours and 151,030 megawatt-hours, respectively. 
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,197 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 2,537 megawatt-hours.
