Turkeys Daily Power Consumption Up 0.18% on Dec. 19

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.18% to 833,184 megawatt-hours on Thursday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time with 39,472 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 28,713 megawatt-hours at 05.00.

Total electricity production reached 831,317 megawatt-hours on Thursday, with a 0.09% increase compared to the previous day. The majority of output came from natural gas plants totaling 239,288 megawatt-hours.

Imported coal and lignite plants followed with 187,881 megawatt-hours and 155,457 megawatt-hours, respectively. On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,148 megawatt-hours while imports totaled 7,015 megawatt-hours.
