Russian nuclear energy corporation Rosatom said that its unit for production of energy storage systems, Cathode Materials, will deliver ion-lithium batteries to Bulgaria's Technoimport, part of Bulgarian manufacturer of forklifts and electric platforms Balkancar Record

All Balkancar vehicles will be equipped with ion-lithium batteries made by Rosatom, the Russian company said in a statement over the weekend, without disclosing the price of the deal.

Technoimport will decide whether to sign a long-term contract with the Russian company after it tests the batteries on its fleet.

Balkancar Record, based in Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv, is specialised in the production of forklifts, electric platforms, tractors and the respective spare parts, according to information published on its website.

Last month, Rosatom said that it has signed memorandums of understanding with France's Framatome and US-based General Electric Steam Power to submit a joint bid for taking part in a tender for construction of Belene nuclear power plant in Bulgaria.
