French state-controlled electricity group Electicite de France (1024251.FR), or EdF, hasn't ruled out launching a lone bid for British Energy Group PLC (BGY.LN), French daily Le Figaro reports Monday without specifying sources.
At the weekend, The Sunday Times reported EdF is close to a tie up with U.K. gas company Centrica PLC (CNA.LN) on a GBP11 billion bid for British Energy, in which Centrica would take a 25% stake.
