Gazpromneft-Nefteservis, an oilfield service unit of Russian oil company Gazprom Neft (SIBN.RS), plans to take part in tenders for oilfield services in Syria, according to a report in the Gazprom corporate magazine released Tuesday, Prime-Tass news agency reports.

Additionally, Gazpromneft-Nefteservis plans to increase the share of services to companies other than Gazprom Neft to 35% by 2012 and 50% by 2020.

Currently, the company's major customers, excluding Gazprom Neft, are Rosneft (ROSN.RS), RussNeft, Slavneft (SLAV.RS) and OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS).

Gazpromneft-Nefteservis had an about 6% share of Russia's market for oilfield services in 2008. It expects to increase this share to 8%-9% by the end of 2009.

Gazpromneft-Nefteservis was set up in September 2007 by consolidating 10 of Gazprom Neft's 17 oilfield service units.
