Austrian Warmebetriebe and Bulgarian Energy Company plan to invest some $2.6 million in biomass-fuelled thermal plants in the town of Ihtiman in Bulgaria, a BEC official said, according to local media.
The facilities are expected to produce three megawatts heating and 700 KW electricity generation capacity. The whole project is seen starting next year.
Warmebetriebe and BEC have secured financing for the Ihtiman project through the EBRD loans for energy efficiency.
