Greek Transmission System Operator Sees Power Shortages of 700MW (11/12/2006)

The Hellenic Transmission System Operator (HTSO) worries about possible energy shortages during next summer, and proposes the immediate tender of two new power units of installed capacity of 150 MW each, according to local press. The HTSO sees a total power shortage of 700 MW next summer. One of the units should be installed in the southern part of Greece, which faces the worst power problems, according to a study by HTSO.
