The U.K.'s largest nuclear power generator, British Energy Group PLC (BGY.LN), restarted one of its two reactors at the Torness nuclear power station Wednesday after having shut it down to repair a hydrogen leak.
The 620-megawatt Torness unit 1 nuclear power reactor was shut on Dec. 1 to repair a hydrogen leak. British Energy spokeswoman Sue Fletcher said the repair was routine. She added that the plant remains off line for an extended period of time to complete additional maintenance.

British Energy now only has two out of eight nuclear power stations offline. The company shut the four reactors at Hartlepool and Heysham Stage 2 nuclear power stations around October to inspect and repair wire corrosion related to the some of the boiler closure units at the reactors.
