PRAGUE (Dow Jones)--Czech power company CEZ AS (BAACEZ.PR) Monday said it has bid in a tender to renew an existing 535 megawatt power plant in the Romanian town of Galati and potentially to build an additional new power plant in the country.
PRAGUE (Dow Jones)--Czech power company CEZ AS (BAACEZ.PR) Monday said it has bid in a tender to renew an existing 535 megawatt power plant in the Romanian town of Galati and potentially to build an additional new power plant in the country.

The tender is being organized by Romanian state-owned power company Termoelectrica.

CEZ said it would not provide additional details about the offer.

In 2005, CEZ bought Romanian electricity sales and distribution company Electrica Oltenia, which in 2006 had an operating profit of almost 2 billion koruna ($115.1 million).
