The U.K. North Sea's J-Block oil and gas fields are unlikely to resume operation Tuesday after an unplanned outage, but should return to full production within the next few days, a spokeswoman for field operator ConocoPhillips (COP) said Tuesday.

The fields shut down last Tuesday because of an unspecified problem on the Judy platform. The fields Jade, Joanne and Janice feed their gas production through Judy and were also shut down.

The fields produced 9.8 million cubic meters of gas a day and around 51,500 barrels a day of oil combined in September, the most recent month for which U.K. government production figures are available.

The gas from these fields arrives in the U.K. via the CATS pipeline at Teesside in the northeast of England. Oil from the fields feeds into the Ekofisk pipeline system, which also makes landfall at Teesside. The Janice field is operated by Kerr-McGee.
