"As expected the greatest activity was on the Norwegian continental shelf, which accounted for 61% of the costs. We will continue to make heavy investments here related to the streamlining of operations and modifications in the years ahead," said Anders Opedal, senior vice president for procurements.

The large Snoehvit and Ormen Lange fields have now come on stream and the deliveries to development projects will drop. A high procurement level, however, is still expected in the years ahead due to increased well and drilling operations.

Last year Aker Kvaerner Stord was still the largest supplier. Furthermore, Aibel, FMC Kongsberg Subsea, Aker Kvaerner Offshore Partner, Schlumberger Norge, Halliburton, Acergy Norway, Transocean Offshore, Aker Reinertsen and Aker Kvaerner Subsea were some of the main suppliers, based in Norway.
