E.ON Ruhrgas AG, Germany's largest importer of natural gas, Monday said it doesn't expect natural gas supplies will be impacted by the latest dispute between Gazprom OAO (GAZP.RS) and the Ukraine.
"Our customers can be assured that their supply is secure even if there should be a cut in deliveries (via the Ukraine)," a spokeswoman for the E.ON AG (EOA.XE) unit said.
Her comments came in response to an announcement by Russian gas monopoly Gazprom that it has cut supplies to the Ukraine by 25% at 0700 GMT Monday saying the country has failed to act on a prior agreement between the Russian and Ukrainian presidents.
The E.ON Ruhrgas spokeswoman said that the company has been informed about the cut in supplies to the Ukraine in adnvance.
She added that E.ON Ruhrgas has a well diversified supply network, which can offset any possible shortfalls in Russian deliveries.
