Iran warned Monday that a new U.N. Security Council resolution against Tehran over its nuclear activities would only complicate the standoff with the West, the official IRNA news agency reported.
"Any irrational and unlawful act will not help resolve Iran's nuclear issue. It will complicate the dealings around this issue and it will become more difficult," said Iran's Atomic Energy Organization deputy head, Mohammad Saeedi.
The Security Council was preparing Monday to tighten sanctions on Tehran over its refusal to suspend uranium enrichment.
