Hungarian oil and gas company MOL Magyar Olaj- es Gazipari Nyrt. (MOL.BU) said Monday that it purchased 20,000 shares of its registered equity on the Budapest Stock Exchange Friday.
MOL, which has been fighting off a hostile takeover attempt by its Austrian peer OMV AG (OMV.VI), said it had bought the treasury shares at an average price of 21,143 forints ($81.19) a share through ING Bank Zrt. as investment service provider.
Following this transaction, MOL owns 20,000 "A" series and 578 "C" series ordinary shares, the company added.
