Hungarian oil and gas company MOL Magyar Olaj- es Gazipari Nyrt. (MOL.BU) said Thursday that it purchased 19,500 shares of its registered equity on the Budapest Stock Exchange Wednesday.
MOL, which has been fighting off a hostile takeover attempt by its Austrian peer OMV AG (OMV.VI), said it had bought the treasury shares at an average price of 20,824 forints ($126.11) a share through ING Bank Zrt. as investment service provider.
Following this transaction, MOL owns 81,600 "A" series and 578 "C" series ordinary shares, the company added.
