Russia's government has approved increases in tariffs for electricity, gas, telecommunication and freight, Interfax News Agency reported Tuesday, citing Deputy Economy Minister Andrei Klepach.
Electricity prices on the regulated market will rise by an average of 17% in 2008, 26% in 2009, 22% in 2010 and 18% in 2011. Household gas tariffs will rise 14% in 2008, 25% in 2009, 25% in 2010 and 25% in 2011.
Wholesale gas prices will rise 25% in 2008, 25% in 2009, 30% in 2010 and 40% in 2011. Gas prices on the retail market will rise 28.6% in 2008, 19.9% in 2009, 28% in 2010, and 40% in 2011.
Local call rates will rise 7.5% in 2009 and 6% each year in 2010 and 2011, while national call rates will remain flat until 2011.
Klepach also said that tariffs for rail freight would be increased by 8% from June 1.
