Turkish privatization agency OIB said Tuesday that a joint venture of Turkish conglomerate Sabanci Holding (SAHOL.IS), Austrian energy firm Verbund and Enerjisa, a partnership of Sabanci and Verbund, has submitted the highest bid of $1.225 billion in a tender to privatize Baskent Elektrik Dagitim A.S., the electricity grid in the region of capital city Ankara, the Ihlas News Agency, or IHA, reported.
OIB Vice President and head of the tender commission Ahmet Aksu said the Sabanci-Verbund-Enerjisa JV eliminated four other bidders in the tender including a joint-venture led by Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding A.S. (DOHOL2.IS) and a consortium of Akenerji and Czech firm CEZ AS (BAACEZ.PR).
