Poland's energy market regulator, Energy Regulatory Office, or URE, is likely to approve Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo (PGN.WA), or PGNiG's, gas tariff increase of about 10%, two people familiar with the matter told Dow Jones Newswires Friday.
Earlier Friday, URE said it will announce its decision on PGNiG's tariff correction at 0930 GMT without giving further details.
"(The tariff increase) won't be large. If it is accepted, it won't be below 10%. Below 20%, but not much higher than 10%," one of the people said.
Last week, PGNiG said it had scaled down its requested gas tariff hike to below 20% from the 23% requested in August to compensate for rising prices of imported gas.
During the last few weeks, URE repeatedly suggested that falling oil prices didn't justify a steep price increase.
