Edison SpA (EDN.MI), Italy's number-two power generator by capacity, said Monday it has gained a contract worth about EUR240 million to supply electricity to public sector buildings in 2009, winning the tender for the third year in a row.
In a statement, Edison said the contract lasts 12 months and the Milan-based company will provide 1.9 billion kilowatt-hour to public buildings, including schools and army barracks.
Edison is controlled by Italian municipal utility A2A SpA (A2A.MI) and Electricite de France SA.
