French energy group GDF Suez SA (GSZ.FR) is in principle interested in becoming a minority shareholder in the Nord Stream pipeline, Russia's state-controlled natural gas monopoly Gazprom said Monday.
Gazprom didn't give any more details.
Nord Stream is a EUR7.4 billion project to build a gas natural gas pipeline linking Russia and Germany under the Baltic Sea.
German energy utility E.ON AG (EOAN.XE), BASF SE (BAS.XE) subsidiary Wintershall AG and Dutch company Gasunie also are involved in the pipeline
