Turkish power provider TETAS on Jan. 19 will start considering an electricity price offer from a Russian-led consortium, the sole bidder in a tender to build and operate Turkey's first nuclear power station, a TETAS official told Ihlas News Agency, or IHA, on Thursday.
Russian Atomstroyexport, including Russia's Inter Rao and Turkish company Park Termik, was the sole bidder in the tender held Sept. 24 to build and operate a 4,000-megawatt nuclear power station in Akkuyu, near the Turkish Mediterranean port of Mersin.
TETAS will consider the company's offer of the price it wants for the electricity produced at the plant.
TETAS will provide a 'purchasing guarantee' for all the electricity produced by the nuclear plant for 15 years.
