French nuclear power group Areva SA (CEI.FR) has said it will make 30% of the parts for use in planned new nuclear power plants in the U.K., allowing overseas companies to bid for the remaining 70% of the work, U.K. newspaper The Times reports on its Web site Tuesday.

Citing Luc Oursel, Areva's president, the newspaper says the work to be carried out in France will include many of the largest and most complex components, including specialist reactor forgings.

Areva said it expected to build as many as 10 reactors in the U.K. using a design known as the European Pressurized Reactor, or EPR.
