Iraqi oil minister Hussein al-Shahristani Wednesday said his country may reach six million barrels of oil a day in output earlier than planned.
The country also requires an investment of $50 billion over the next six years to reach its targets, he said during a speech at a Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries seminar here.
al-Shahristani also said Iraq expects output of six million barrels a day in 2018, from 2.5 million barrels a day.
