Saipem SpA (SPM.MI), Europe's biggest oil services company by market value, said Monday it got a natural gas onshore contract in Algeria worth about $1.8 billion.
In a statement, Saipem said it was given the contract by a joint venture between Eni (E) SpA and Algerian state-owned oil and gas company Sonatrach. Eni controls Saipem.
The contract is slated to be completed within 36 months, it said.
