A pool of private investors led by Italian infrastructure fund F2i is in exclusive talks with Enel SpA (ENEL.MI) to acquire its gas network, financial daily Il Sole 24 Ore reported Saturday without citing sources.
The paper adds that F2i exclusivity period expires April 24 and an offer has to be submitted by that day.
F2i is studying the bid for Enel Rete Gas also with French private equity AXA private equity, the paper notes.
It is unclear if private equity Valiance Capital is interested in bidding for the same gas network.
