The Russian government will consider disbursing a loan worth several billion of euros to Bulgaria for the construction of its Russian-built Belene nuclear power plant, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said Tuesday following a meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart Sergei Stanishev, news agency Prime-Tass reported.
Russian engineering company Atomstroyexport is the contractor for the EUR3.997 billion plant, which will belong to Bulgaria's National Electric Company.
The plant's capacity is projected at 2,000 megawatts.
