Russian natural gas giant Gazprom said Wednesday in a conference call that it would cut its 2009 gas output plan by 10% or more, Prime-Tass news agency reports.
Russian natural gas giant Gazprom said Wednesday in a conference call that it would cut its 2009 gas output plan by 10% or more, Prime-Tass news agency reports.

Earlier this month Gazprom Deputy CEO Valery Golubev said the company planned to produce 492 billion cubic meters of gas in 2009. In 2008, Gazprom produced 550.587 billion cubic meters of gas, up 0.1% on the year.

Gazprom also said demand for gas in Russia was expected to fall 5% on the year in 2009.

Additionally, Gazprom said it would reduce its gas purchases from Central Asia.
