Eni SpA (E), Italy's biggest energy company by market value, said Tuesday it got the operatorship and participating interests in two exploration licenses offshore Norway, as it strengthens its presence in the hydrocarbon-rich Scandinavian country.

In a statement, Eni said it got the operatorship and ownership interest of 40% in the PL529 and PL533 licenses. It also said it got an ownership interest of 30% in PL532. All three licenses are in the Barents Sea.

Eni has daily production of about 130,000 barrels in Norway, where it has been operating since 1964, it added.
