Eni (E) SpA is considering making a takeover offer for French oil company Etablissements Maurel et Prom SA (5107.FR) in a deal worth at least EUR1.5 billion, Italian daily Il Sole 24 Ore reports Thursday, without citing its source.
China National Offshore Oil Corporation, or CNOOC, as well as India's Adani Welspun Exploration and Indian Oil Corp., are considering the possibility of making an offer for Maurel et Prom, says the daily.
Eni declined to comment in the report.
