Saipem SpA
(SPM.MI) said Monday it had won an offshore contract in Kazakhstan worth about $1 billion.
Saipem, Europe's biggest oil services company by
market capitalization, said in a statement that the contract is in partnership
with Aker Solutions and includes the hook-up and commissioning of the shore
facilities, as well as inshore completion and prefabrication in the Kuryk yard
in Kazakhstan.
Saipem is controlled by Eni SpA (E).
Its shares opened Monday up 0.9% at EUR17.24 on an overall negative market.
