Gazprom To Invest RUB11.8B In Gas Pipe In 2009

Russia's OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) plans to invest 11.8 billion rubles in the construction of a gas pipeline on the Kamchatka Peninsula in 2009, Gazprom said in a statement Tuesday.

Russia's OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) plans to invest 11.8 billion rubles in the construction of a gas pipeline on the Kamchatka Peninsula in 2009, Gazprom said in a statement Tuesday.

The pipeline will run from the village of Sobolevo in the southwestern part of the peninsula to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the capital of the Kamchatka Region, located in the southeastern part. The launch of the pipeline is slated for 2010.

Gazprom also plans to invest RUB2.2 billion in the development of the Kshukskoye and Nizhne-Kvakchikskoye gas fields on the western coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula in 2009, the company said.

In 2008, Gazprom invested RUB4.8 billion in the construction of the pipeline and RUB1.1 billion in the development of the fields.
