Russia is currently in talks to resume its gas purchases from Turkmenistan, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin said Friday.
"Negotiations are being held, and they're difficult," he said.
Sechin said he was sure Russia would reach a gas deal with Turkmenistan. He said Russia also expected to buy gas from Azerbaijan.
Turkmenistan halted gas supplies to Russian natural gas giant Gazprom OAO (GAZP.RS) in April after Gazprom reduced its gas purchases. Turkmenistan accused Gazprom of failing to notify beforehand about plans to cut gas purchases.
